Certova and EZLynx, side by side

EZLynx is Applied Systems' system for agencies of one to twenty users, and it has a rater we do not have. This page is not an argument that it is a bad product. It is a list of the things it does not publish, next to ours, which are published here for anyone including their salespeople.

The questions, answered

Every answer in their column carries the source it came from. Where they do not publish something, the table says so, because that is the answer.

Certova compared with EZLynx, with a source on every claim
QuestionCertovaEZLynx
What does it cost?$379 platform + $85 per licensed seat, published on this siteNot published. Third-party estimates put the base around $300–350 a month plus roughly $150–200 per user; agencies reported a 50% increase in 2023. Capterra reviews
What is the contract term?Month to month, thirty days' notice, published in the termsNot published. The one term agencies do report is that the contract blocks downgrades. Third-party estimate
What does leaving cost?Nothing. A complete export, free, any day — including the day you close the account. Not published. Applied does not disclose a formal data-export policy, so no agency can find out in advance what an export contains or costs.
Is the API included?Yes, and the MCP server, at no additional chargeNot published. Agencies report API access being quoted rather than included; we have no EZLynx-specific source for a figure, so we are not printing one.
Does a licensed human approve what the AI writes?Yes, on every write. The approval queue is a database constraint, not a setting. Not published. EVA ships in EZLynx and agencies find its summaries useful; whether a human approves its output before a record changes is not stated either way. Capterra reviews
Does it fill a submission from public record?Yes. Folio, year built, roof year, open permits and wind design pulled from the county of record, each field showing its source and the date it was fetched. Not published. County-record prefill is not among the capabilities Applied documents for EZLynx.
Is the certificate checked against the contract?Yes. The requirement in the contract is compared field by field against the coverage in force before anything is drafted — waiver of subrogation, additional insured, primary and non-contributory — and a disagreement is shown rather than issued over. Not published. No vendor in this category publishes whether a certificate is verified against the contract that demanded it.
Does it work in Spanish?English and Spanish across the whole product, including certificates and client-facing documentsNot published — and not by anyone. The August 2026 market scan found no Spanish interface, no Spanish client portal and no bilingual certificate tooling at any vendor in this category.

Where EZLynx is the better answer

EZLynx has a rater and we do not, and it is fast. Agencies volunteer ease of use as its strongest quality more than any other single praise, its texting syncs to the file, and its instant commercial quoting runs through Ivans. If your day is bound by how quickly you can quote a BOP, EZLynx is the better tool and you should stay on it. It also has twenty years of operating history behind it, which we do not.

Moving your book across

The one contract fact worth knowing before you start: agencies report that the EZLynx contract blocks downgrades. You cannot shed seats as your team moves across, so a long parallel run is paid at full price on both systems. Find your renewal date before you find a demo slot.

Third-party estimates put an EZLynx conversion at $1,000 to $5,000 — materially cheaper than the $18,000 to $22,000 an agency reported for a five-person AMS360 shop. EZLynx agencies are less scarred by migration than Epic or AMS360 agencies, and correspondingly less impressed by anyone offering to do it for free. Ours is included, and that is a line item, not the argument.
